FAQs

What’s the difference between the Private Tour and the Shared Tour?

The Private Tour is a 7-hour all-inclusive experience covering La Candelaria, Monserrate, Gold & Botero museums, coffee tastings, and private transport with hotel pickup/drop-off. The Shared Monserrate Tour is a 1.5-hour guided group experience focused exclusively on Monserrate—it includes entry tickets and a guide but does not include transport, La Candelaria, museums, or gastronomy.

When does the Shared Monserrate Tour operate?

The Shared Tour runs Monday to Saturday with two daily departures: 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It is not available on Sundays. The Private Tour can be scheduled at your preferred time any day of the week.

Where do I meet for the Shared Tour?

The meeting point is at the base of Monserrate, next to the ticket office. Guests need to arrive independently—no hotel pickup is included. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the scheduled departure.

How much walking is involved? Is it suitable for me?

Private Tour: Expect several short walks on cobblestones in La Candelaria plus time at Monserrate (city at 2,640 m; summit at 3,152 m). Pace is moderate with brief vehicle links. Shared Tour: The walk focuses on the Monserrate summit area. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water; both tours are suitable for most active travelers.

Are the tours really in English? Will the guide help with local interactions?

Yes—both tours are led entirely in English. On the Private Tour, your guide also helps you connect with baristas, artisans, and locals so you can order confidently and get insider tips.

What if a museum is closed or the weather changes?

Gold Museum is closed on Mondays and Botero Museum is closed on Tuesdays. In this case you can select which museum you would like to visit. The options are: Emerald Museum, Museum of Bogota or Military Museum. Both tours run rain or shine with flexible pacing.

Is Bogotá safe for tourists?

Yes. Our tours operate exclusively in well-established tourist areas — La Candelaria, Plaza de Bolívar, Monserrate — during daytime hours with a professional local guide and private vehicle. You're never navigating unfamiliar streets alone. Our guides have years of experience, know every block, and adjust routes in real time if needed. We've safely guided over 1,000 travelers through Bogotá.

Do I need to tip my guide?

Tips are never expected or required. If your guide made your day special, a tip of $5–$10 USD per person is a thoughtful gesture — but it’s entirely up to you.

How far in advance should I book?

We accept bookings up to 12 hours before departure — one of the shortest booking cutoffs in Bogotá. That said, we recommend booking at least 2–3 days in advance during peak season (December–March and June–August) to secure your preferred date and time.
