A graduate of Dartmouth College (Economics & Philosophy) and IE Business School in Madrid (MBA), Shawn brings more than 15 years of international experience to his work. After moving to Colombia in 2023, he quickly recognized the country’s growing potential as a destination for both travelers and forward-thinking tourism businesses.
Under Shawn’s leadership, Cielo.Travel has grown into one of Colombia’s most influential digital travel networks, now reaching over 500,000 followers and 3.4 million people each month. Shawn is deeply committed to responsible tourism and local impact. He’s worked to build partnerships with boutique hotels, guides, and small businesses, helping them reach new audiences online and deliver memorable experiences to visitors from Colombia and around the world.
His approach is collaborative and hands-on—Shawn is often found working alongside his team, developing new tours, or engaging with clients directly. He believes that the key to success in tourism is listening first: understanding what travelers want, what local businesses need, and how digital tools can bring those worlds together.
Outside of work, Shawn is passionate about exploring Colombia’s diverse regions and sharing stories that inspire others to see the country differently.
