Armenia’s El Edén was flying again the next day; Pereira’s Matecaña was closed for more than two weeks and came back below full capacity. So for the rest of 2026 we point most people through Armenia, and we meet flights at both.

The airports
Choose the airport by where you are sleeping, not by the city on the ticket. Salento is 25 kilometers north of Armenia and the Cocora Valley ten beyond it; Pereira's airport is a little further from both and closer to the hot springs of Santa Rosa de Cabal. Each is about an hour in the air from Bogotá or Medellín.
Armenia, El Edén (AXM)
Ten minutes from the edge of the city by the aviation authority's own description, and the short way to Salento, the Cocora Valley, the Parque del Café and the farms of southern Quindío. A host meets you inside arrivals with a Safe Transfers sign, and the same car goes on to Salento, Filandia or a farm if that is where you sleep.
Pereira, Matecaña (PEI)
The region's busiest airport in normal times, on Pereira's western edge and the closest to the Santa Rosa de Cabal hot springs. It has run below full capacity since the earthquake, so check your airline's schedule; if your flight lands here, we take you on to Pereira, Salento or Filandia all the same.
Manizales, and the drive from Pereira's airport
Manizales has a small airport of its own, La Nubia, with fewer flights, and when yours lands in Pereira instead, the drive up to Manizales is a route we run. In and around the city, the Recinto del Pensamiento and the Otoño hot springs are two of the days we guide.
Between the towns and the farms
Inside the region the distances are short and the roads wind: Filandia is 20 kilometers from Salento, and from Armenia or Pereira the Cocora Valley is about two hours door to door with the stop in town. A transfer gets you and your bags to where you are staying; for the days out, our tours pick up in Armenia, Salento, Filandia or Pereira.

The roads in
Flying is the quick way in. If you would rather drive, these are the three roads we run, and each route page on Safe Transfers carries the tolls and the current state of the road.
From Medellín
South out of Antioquia and into the coffee country: most of a day on a beautiful road, and worth it when the drive is part of the trip.
From Cali
North up the Valle del Cauca, past Buga and Tuluá, and up into Quindío.
From Bogotá
Across the central range and through La Línea, the longest road tunnel in Latin America: a long day on the road, which is why we suggest the flight instead unless the drive is the point.
What you are actually booking
A private transfer, not a seat on somebody else's schedule. The car is yours for the route, the driver is one of ours, and the price you see in the booker is the price at the end: tolls included, no extra charge when your flight lands late, and nothing to renegotiate at the door.
You can put stops in the plan — a town on the way, lunch, a viewpoint — and the quote accounts for them rather than penalizing you later. If you want the day to be more than the drive, a guided tour is usually the better purchase, and the cards above link to the ones we run.
